Food Supplements blamed by tainted athlete
The disgraced athlete involved in the latest doping scandal, Aswini Akkunji, thinks the consumption of food supplements supplied to her and other athletes by athletics coach, Yuri Ogorodnik, would have been the reason for the failed dope test.
Akkunji claimed innocence as far as consumption of performance enhancing drugs is concerned.

MLB warns over deer antler spray
Baseball players in both the major and minor leagues have been warned to stop ingesting deer-antler spray, according to a story first reported by Sports Illustrated and confirmed by the New York Times.
The spray includes “potentially contaminated nutritional supplements” and has been added to MLB’s list of cautionary substances.

Women’s World Cup rocked by drug scandal
A total of five members of the North Korean team tested positive for a banned anabolic steroid at the women’s World Cup, according to the governing body of football.
“This is a shock,” FIFA President Sepp Blatter said at a news conference. “We are confronted with a very, very bad case of doping and it hurts.”
