When a man uses steroid his body compensates with the increasing production of female hormone called estrogen. This process leads to the development of gynecomastia or man boobs. In the report conducted by the Daily News investigative team, states that Alex Rodriguez is not the only New York Yankees that developed this condition.
In the book, American Icon, which will be released on May 12, says that Roger Clemens also had the same predicament. In the report of the investigative team of Daily News, they claim that Clemens was always the first to go out of the shower room and the first to get dressed after game.

Alex Rodriguez wasn’t the only player in the Yankee clubhouse who suffered from “man boobs,” an embarrassing side effect of steroid use.
According to “American Icon,” a book by the Daily News sports investigative team that will be released on May 12, Roger Clemens also sprouted breasts as a result of anabolic steroid use. The condition is called gynecomastia, and it occurs in men who use steroids because their bodies compensate for a surge of testosterone by increasing production of female hormones.
“The medical term was gynecomastia, but around the clubhouse they called them “b—- t—” or “man boobs” - and heaven help the player who sprouted them in the middle of his career and then took his shirt off in the locker room,”
Rodriguez admitted in February that he tested positive during Major League Baseball’s survey testing period in 2003 but said he used steroids only from 2001-2003, following Roberts’ report in Sports Illustrated that he had been among the 104 players who had failed a test.
Although allegations on steroid use still follow Roger Clemens, he has staunchly denied that he used steroids or human growth hormone during his career with the New York Yankees.
